Diddy TV

Adding to his already successful television resume, which includes his executive produced MTV programs "Making The Band" and "Run's House," Diddy is set to launch yet another show on VH1.

"I Want to Work for Diddy" is an apprentice type show where contestants compete to be the mogul's personal assistant. The concept for the show was born after Diddy's failed attempts at the standard recruitment process. To jumpstart the competition Diddy informed the media that he was accepting applicants.

Diddy told Billboard, his latest venture is a thorough one, "It's all part of my strategic plan to take over TV: Diddy TV," he said.

While he admits that his series seems similar to Donald Trump's "Apprentice," he also contends "My show has a whole different style and a whole different energy. But if 'The Apprentice' helped to open up the door for this show, then so be it."

As far as Diddy is concerned, the premise of his show isn't solely about the competition. Instead, "It's about people chasing their dreams," he said.

"I don't say it in a cocky way, but I take pride in being one of the best at doing what I do." And as the mastermind behind both the Bad Boy music label and Sean John clothing line, Diddy hopes his series inspires the youth, particularly African Americans, and shows that they can excel in arenas other than just basketball and rap music.

"I Want to Work for Diddy" premiers Monday August 4th at 9 PM on VH1 and "Making the Band 4" returns to MTV on August 13th featuring Rochester's own Q.
