Harlem rapper Jim Jones has found himself in yet another battle but this time he's fighting for education. Jones, along with MTV's Sway Calloway and former New York Knick, John Starks, have all been added to the non-profit organization, Entertainers 4 Education Alliance's (E4EA) board of directors.
Having been previously involved with the group, each of the men sought to increase their contributions.
Of his part in the project Jones said, "It's only right that I give back to the community and E4EA is the perfect organization which offers such a great service where I can use my celebrity status to let our youth know to make smart choices and education is very important. Graduating from high school thats balling!"
E4EA prides itself on youth empowerment through the promotion of education and good decision making. The organization enlists the support of entertainers to deliver this message to young people and just recently they announced their "I Will Graduate Campaign," naming Lil' Mama as their spokesperson.
The non-profit's signature event is their annual Stay in School concert - a star studded celebration where performers both entertain and engage with youth.
The event is meant to stress the importance of education, career advancement and social commitment. This year's concert will take place at New York's Manhattan Center on October 28th.
