Nas Takes Over Number 1 Spot

Hip-Hop superstar Nas' Untitled album has bumped Lil' Wayne from the No. 1 spot after selling 187,000 copies in his opening week.

According to Billboard, the always-controversial emcee earned the top position on the charts after outselling Weezy's Tha Carter III, which sold 105,000 copies this week. Despite slipping to No. 2, his album has already been certified 2x platinum in the United States after.

While this will be Nas' 5th consecutive No. 1 album, Untitled's first week sales are still significantly less than Nas' last album, Hip-Hop Is Dead, which sold 354,000 albums during the Christmas week of '06.

David Banner also debuted in the Top 10 this week as his fourth solo release, The Greatest Story Ever Told, reached the No. 8 spot with 52,000 units moved. The album features the club single "Get Like Me" featuring Yung Joc and R&B superstar Chris Brown.
