Noel Gourdin - A Review - "After My Time"
As you all know, Noel Gourdin will be performing at the WDKX Health Jam on August 16th. He will share the stage with Anthony David and Betty Wright. This Tuesday, July 22, Noel will drop his CD, "After My Time" which proves that R&B Music is back.
It's hard to believe that Noel is only 26 years old with the mature voice and heartfelt lyrics he delivers on each song. It definitely sounds like he's been here before, especially on the cut "Make the Most", which samples Michael Henderson's "Valentine."
It's not the type of CD you would hear at the club, but a few of the cuts will have you moving. "Hurts Like Hell" will be big with all of you "Chicago Steppers" out there, "One Love", a tune about loyalty and commitment, and "Too Late" has that 'Loose Ends' groove.
One thing that is apparent on this CD is that Noel Gourdin is in love! On "Open", Noel speaks of a woman who has without question, his nostrils wide - She must be a bad girl! We've all heard his love story as he took us to "The River" and back down home at the same time. And then there is "Summertime" - Oh My!!!!! - If it's like that Noel, "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!"
"Sorry" truly show's Noel's beautiful vocal range - His voice is so pure. This one is the cherry on the sundae that proves to me that this young man will be around for a long time.
