Michael Jackson Likes Ne-Yo

Ne-Yo is turning out to be quite a Gentleman this year, the R&B singer/songwriter is busy gearing up for the release of his new album Year of the Gentleman, but says his ex inspires a lot of his music.

According to a recent interview with MTV News, the singer says "She knows she's responsible. Her man knows, her daughter knows, and they're flattered. She makes for great song lyrics, but she better not ask for 10 percent!" of his ex and mother of his child when asked about his next potential single "Stop The World."

Ne-Yo's ex also inspired two previous hits including his breakout single "So Sick" and the more recent "Do You."

"Stop the World" is a piano based ballad that the "Closer" singer says is about falling in love so hard that you believe those feelings could literally stop the world from spinning. "That happens to me a lot," he said. "I'm a bleeding heart, ladies and gentleman. But the first time it happened for me was when I was 16 years old."

In related news, the singer recently revealed a tribute to Michael Jackson on his latest album entitled "Nobody." According to MTV, when the star played the track for Jackson, with whom he's currently working, he got a positive response. "He told me that he likes the way I do Michael Jackson," Ne-Yo beamed. "I asked him what he meant by that, and he said, 'When you do that, it doesn't feel like you're trying to copy me or trying to be me. It feels like you're complimenting me.' And that's what I'm doing. It means the world that he liked it."

Ne-Yo's third studio album entitled "Year of the Gentleman" is due in stores August 5th !
