Shaq has landed in Paradise Valley.
Phoenix Suns center Shaquille O'Neal has a lease-purchase deal for a home that retired Cardinals and Dallas Cowboys running back Emmitt Smith previously leased, said Realtor Jesse Conner of ReMax Fine Properties.
"It's a phenomenal house," Conner said of the 6-year-old gated home southwest of Lincoln Drive and Scottsdale Road.
The 9,400-square-foot home on more than 2 acres includes a golf chipping green, a sport court with a basketball hoop and a 7-car garage, the agent said.
O'Neal, 36, also known as "Diesel" and now the "Big Cactus," joined the Suns in February in a trade that sent Shawn Marion and Marcus Banks to the Miami Heat.
O'Neal is under contract for two more years with the Suns for $20 million per year, so he can well afford the high rent district of Paradise Valley.
Conner, the Realtor, said O'Neal has a one-year lease with a one-year option.
"I showed him a lot of stuff for sale, but this deal made way more sense," Conner said.
