The Dean's List - I Am So Proud
by Dean

As I was cleaning my desk at work today, preparing to go home for the day, I received an instant message (IM) from WDKX's Liz Medhin that said, "Breaking News - Obama clinches Democratic nomination!!! - Won All The Delegates He Needs."

I rushed home so I could post the news on WDKX.com. After I posted the information, I sat and thought about what this means and how I feel about it.

The Dean's List is so proud!

Stop what you are doing for a minute and think about how big this truly is. This is the first time in history that an African American man has a shot at "seriously" being our next President! This is a huge moment in African American history! - In World history!

I may get some hate mail on this one, but I have to admit that I'm equally proud of Hillary Clinton. A woman has run a successful campaign and was a real contender for the White House. She may be our next Vice-President (whether you like it or not, that would be a powerful ticket!). Yes, some of her campaign tactics were a bit hard, but what politician do you know that hasn't fought for votes - by any means necessary? Maybe one - Barack Obama.

The Dean's List believes that Obama could just be the man to turn this country around - well at least begin to. Whoever takes over the White House next term will need more than four years to begin to clean house. If elected, Barack Obama will have his hands full. Many say that he isn't experienced enough to run the country, but it seems that experience may be the thing that has gotten us into the mess we are in now! Politics and Government at it's worse. It's definitely time for a change!

Share this moment in history with your family and friends, especially with children. Start a dialogue. Let them know how important this is and how it could change American History. But most of all, "If you have not registered to vote - Do It Today!!!!!"

Yes We Can!
