In an interview on the pre-game NBA show on TNT, Charles Barkley told Ernie Johnson that he would not gamble anymore after the ordeal from this past week.
As WDKX reported last Thursday, a prosecutor says retired NBA star Charles Barkley is facing felony charges if he fails to repay a $400,000 gambling debt to a Las Vegas Strip casino.
Clark County District Attorney David Roger says Barkley will get a chance to make restitution to Wynn Las Vegas to avoid facing felony bad check charges.
The casino alleges in court documents filed Wednesday that Barkley failed to repay four $100,000 casino markers, or loans, he received last Oct. 18 and 19.
Ernie asked Charles if he needed to seek help to stop or could he do it himself. "I only gamble once or twice, I will just stop. I'm not saying it will be forever, but for the next year or two, I will not gamble."
At the end of the interview, Ernie joked with Charles and asked if he wanted to bet on tonights game. "That's like offering food to a fat person on a diet", said Charles.
