R&B singer Amy Winehouse will not be charged for the video footage that allegedly showed her smoking crack cocaine, a British police source said on Wednesday.
"Following a CPS investigation into a 24-year-old woman ... no further action will be taken," a police spokesman said. Winehouse was questioned for nine hours over the video, published by Britain's The Sun tabloid.
On Wednesday, her spokesman welcomed news that there would be no charges.
"Amy is pleased to be able to move on and concentrate on music and particularly looks forward to seeing her fans again at eagerly awaited festival performances this summer," the spokesman said, quoted by Reuters news agency.
Winehouse's battles with drug addiction have overshadowed her singing success, which includes winning five Grammy Awards earlier this year.
She rocketed to fame with hits like "Rehab" and "You Know I'm No Good" from her album Back to Black.
Winehouse will appear at the V festival in London this summer.
