Solange Knowles, the younger sister of R&B singer Beyonce, will release her second album on August 26, her Geffen Records label said.
"Sol-Angel and The Hadley Street Dreams" is the follow-up to 2003's "Solo Star" (Columbia), which sold 112,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen Soundscan.
Her new release boasts production from Gnarls Barkley frontman Cee-Lo, Q-Tip, Mark Ronson, Raphael Saadiq and Pharrell -- who steered the first single, "I Decided."
"I have been so inspired by the music of the '60s and the '70s and it definitely showcases in this record," Knowles said of the tune in a recent MySpace posting. "I have faith that people are ready for a change and diversity and an intelligent ear and I hope this record can fit into that mold."
In addition, Knowles pays homage to Marvin Gaye on "Ode to Marvin," her version of his protest anthem "What's Going On."
