On this 24th anniversary of the death of Marvin Gaye, his sister Zeola Gaye remembers the music legend and talks with EUR's Lee Bailey about her upcoming book "My Brother Marvin."
"It's a tell-all book that will basically reveal everything that anybody has ever wondered as far as my family," she says. "I'm speaking of my mother, father, my sister and my brother, and my life with [Marvin],"
says Gaye.
She also writes about "how he grew up; what made Marvin become the man he was; and what made my father do what he did. Questions to me always are 'Why?' People want to know, 'Why would a father shoot his son?' My book will reveal all of those things."
As for today's anniversary of the singer's passing, Zeola Gaye prefers to word things a bit differently.
"I like to say a celebration of his life," she tells us. "Since his birthday was the 2nd, I tend to try to let April 1st just slide past me. And on April 2nd we celebrate his birthday."
