Isiah Thomas preferred to discuss a player on the team his Knicks will face today, instead of guard Stephon Marbury. "Any questions about LeBron James?" Thomas asked (BTW - King James dropped 50 on the Knicks). "Going once, going twice....."
As New York faces Cleveland tonight, guard Stephon Marbury remains an apparent pariah to the Knicks. Following reports that Thomas told the player to stay away from home games at Madison Square Garden, Thomas said only: "I have no reaction."
Marbury is recovering from surgery and has feuded with Thomas off and on during the season. When asked how he felt about Marbury's absence from Monday's home game, Thomas was evasive. "We have our hands full with Chris Paul and LeBron James," he answered. "When you have the opportunity to speak with Steph, you can ask him all the questions that you need to ask him."
A Knicks spokesman said Marbury was at the facility Tuesday undergoing rehab. But when asked by media to relay an interview request to Marbury, the spokesman briefly left and returned, saying Marbury had left the building.
