Barack Obama Wins Grammy Award

U.S. presidential hopeful Barack Obama won the Grammy Award for spoken-word album at a pre-telecast ceremony in Los Angeles Sunday.

Obama's "The Audacity of Hope: Thoughts on Reclaiming the American Dream," beat out works by former Presidents Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, as well as poet Maya Angelou and actor Alan Alda for the honor.

Hillary Clinton, Obama's rival for the Democratic presidential nomination, won a spoken-word Grammy in 1996 for "It Takes a Village," while former President Bill Clinton won spoken-word Grammy Awards in 2003 and 2004.
