Grammy-winning singer Alicia Keys is going to hike in the desert, American Idol winner Jordin Sparks will enjoy being home in Glendale.
Singer-pianist Keys, who will perform a pregame concert on the field, said, "I love Arizona so much. There's something about the spirit of Arizona that moves me.
"I like to hike . . . I like to run, and seeing that it's not too hot this time of year, I'm going to take advantage of that."
Sparks, whose family has lived in Glendale full time since 2000, says she loves to soak in the atmosphere of home when she's not traveling to record or promote her self-titled debut album.
"I will probably lock myself in my room for a little while," said Sparks, 18, who will sing the national anthem.
She shares a love of the outdoors with Keys, and the young singer smilingly suggested the two could get together for a hike.
