Wireless Handheld Devices Hit Jamaica

A United States company and a Canadian-based developer have teamed up to bring a new high-speed internet access device to the Jamaican market.

Edgetech International Inc. in Florida has struck a new agreement with Datawind to exclusively distribute in Jamaica, 'The PC Edge' - a handheld wireless internet access device which delivers high-speed internet access, displays full content HTML, web pages, graphics and javascript.

"This new agreement repositions Edgetech International as the premier distributor of Mobile Computing Solutions. The sales and marketing efforts of 'The PC Edge' will now be presented to a potential distribution channel with millions of subscribers," said Edgetech CEO, Lev Parnas.

Vice President of Sales at Edgetech, Keith R Jones said the company would be fully exploring the new revenue opportunities which will be made available as a result of this recent development.

"The first new markets that Edgetech International plans to penetrate are national and regional cellular carriers, internet service providers, cable companies, national and regional telecommunications providers," the company stated in a release issued to make the announcement.
