No Thanksgiving Dinner For T.I.

Two days after T.I. asked a judge's permission to waive rules of his bond condition and host more than three visitors for Thanksgiving, the rapper has withdrawn his request in the wake of strong opposition from federal prosecutors.

"The defendant is asking this Court for the very kind of special treatment to which this Court made clear the defendant was not entitled,"
federal prosecutors wrote in their response to T.I.'s request, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

"His constant requests for more visitors, recent complaints about 'delays' in the approval of visitors, and requests for maintenance workers and a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with 'family' show that the defendant does not ... appreciate the generosity of the Court in granting his release...."

Before his withdrawal request Thursday, T.I, born Clifford Harris, was accused by the U.S. Attorney's Office of taxing court officials who have to run background checks on all the visitors he wishes to see. The list he submitted, prosecutors said, has 95 names, reports AJC.

The 27-year-old was arrested Oct. 13 in a Midtown parking lot after authorities said he illegally tried to buy machine guns and silencers. He was released on a $3 million bond and allowed to stay in his Jonesboro home with his girlfriend and his children. But he can only have up to three visitors at a time, all of who have to undergo a background check.

In addition to asking the judge for a Thanksgiving Day exception so he could entertain family, T.I. also asked the judge to allow access for workers to come clean his yard, pool and home.

The government said Harris should be grateful that he was granted house arrest. "The defendant is allowed the freedom to roam the grounds of his home and is even allowed to enjoy the outdoors on his boat dock, which is attached to his lakefront property," it said.

Addressing the government's lengthy response to T.I.'s request, his defense team followed up with a curt filing: "In light of the Government's opposition said motion is withdrawn."
