Phat MoNique Joins Ugly Betty
Mo'Nique will be joining the cast of the primetime hit show 'Ugly Betty.'
The plus-sized actress, who gained national television popularity on the UPN sitcom 'The Parkers', is slated to play the role of L'Amanda, a weekend receptionist at the fictitious Mode magazine.
According to a production source, Mo'Nique will be immersed in a storyline involving her lust for Betty's would be love interests Henry (played by Christopher Gorham).
'Ugly Betty,' which stars America Ferrera as Betty Suarez and Vanessa Williams as Wilhelmina Slater, airs Thursdays from 8:00-9:00 p.m. ET, on the ABC.
