Samuel L. Jackson and comedian Bernie Mac are slated to share the big screen as estranged backup singers in the upcoming comedy, "Soul Men".
Jackson and Mac will play former backup singers of a famous group who haven't spoken to each other in over 20 years. The duo agrees to reunite and go on tour in tribute of their recently deceased band leader.
Both Jackson and Mac have signed on to dance and sing in the movie.
The film, which is currently in negotiations to get access to the legendary Stax Records catalog, will begin production on January 15.
Stax was the recording home to such soul luminaries as Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding, The Staple Singers, Booker T. & the MG's and Sam and Dave. The flick will be released via Dimension Films.
