Add Jay-Z's "American Gangster" CD to the list of highly anticipated fourth quarter(End of year)releases. Well, him and Lil Wayne.
Jigga is readying to release his 10th solo CD, American Gangster, four days after Denzel Washington's flick of the same name hits theaters. Hov reportedly wrote songs based on specific scenes from the movie.
"It was like I was watching the film, and putting it on pause, and giving a back story to the story," Jay told The New York Times. "Watching that film, it brought back all these memories. It took me back to those emotions." Hmmm...
Go to the music section to preview Jay's new song "Blue Magic". Da song was produced by Pharrell Of The Neptunes. Jay and Pharrell have collaborated several times on hits like Jay Z's "Give It To Me" and Pharell's "Frontin".
But theres another Carter on the horizon. Hip Hop's self proclaimed "Best Rapper Alive". Dewayne Carter a.k.a "The Carter" better known as, Lil Wayne!!
Weezy's new album "The Carter 3" is scheduled to be released around da exact same time!!
This could be the setup for S.Carter Vs. Young Carter!! Man, it would be another huge hip hop battle, similar to 50 Vs Kanye.
Wayne has pretty much been da peoples champion MC as of late. Appearing on damn near everybody's song or remix.
Wayne has been a long time Jay admirer, though sum of Wayne's freestyles and slick punch lines, have sum sayin he's aiming at Jay.
Either way, it would be a great battle for hip hop. It would raise CD sales, which have been terrible and it would have da "God MC" Vs "Da Best Rapper Alive" in a huge face off!!
