Luda Scores Another Acting Role

Ludacris' acting career is on a roll. "The Hollywood Reporter" says the rapper will co-star with "300" star Gerard Butler and Thandie Newton in Guy Ritchie's upcoming crime caper "RocknRolla." Written and directed by Ritchie, who is Madonna's husband, "RocknRolla" centers around a Russian mobster whose empire becomes threatened by criminal rivals. Butler will play the veteran mobster, while Newton will play his love interest. Luda will play an American trying to make it in the London music scene. Production on the film is expected to begin soon in London. Ludacris' past acting credits include the movies "Hustle & Flow" and "Crash," which also co-starred Thandie Newton. He's currently filming the drama "Ball Don't Lie" with Nick Cannon and will appear in the upcoming Santa sibling comedy "Fred Claus," playing Angry Elf. Luda picked up an award Tuesday night at the 2007 BET Awards. His collaboration with Mary J. Blige on "Runaway Love" earned them the Best Collaboration trophy.
