Prince's 'Revolution' is Back

Prince is reuniting with members of his former backing band The Revolution. Columbia Records has announced that the music icon will re-team with one-time musical proteges Wendy and Lisa for his forthcoming album "Planet Earth." Wendy and Lisa were instrumental in the recording of Prince's classic 1984 album "Purple Rain" and even appeared in the film of the same name. After the Revolution dissolved in 1986, Wendy and Lisa went on to record a handful of albums on their own and produced music for a number of films and TV shows including the NBC series "Crossing Jordan" and "Heroes." The duo reunited with Prince at the Brit Awards in London last year. It was the first time the three had performed together in front of a live audience in 20 years. Led by the single "Guitars," Prince's new album "Planet Earth" will be released on July 24th. Columbia recently announced their renewed association with Prince whose "Musicology" album was released on the label in 2004 through a one-album deal. Prince's last album "3121" was released last year on Universal Records.
