50 Cent Wants To Drop Off The Map

Fifty Cent is planning to unleash a burst of creativity in the next several months, but after that fans may have to wait a while. The rapper says after he releases his next two albums, he may step out of the spotlight. Taking a cue from his pal Eminem, 50 thinks the disappearing act will build anticipation for a long-awaited follow up album. He tells MTV, quote, "The less common you appear, the bigger your celebrity." The rapper has set an early September release date for his third album, "Curtis," and tells MTV that he's only about five tracks away from finishing the album's followup, which will be titled "Before I Self Destruct." That disc was originally going to follow his 2005 album, "The Massacre." Fiddy says "Self Destruct" is now set to be released in February to coincide with the five-year anniversary of his debut, "Get Rich or Die Tryin.'" The rapper also says it will be the final original studio release of his five-album deal with Interscope Records, as the fifth will be a greatest-hits CD.
