Shrek the Third made $122 million in its first weekend, setting a new record for best debut for an animated film. Shrek 2 held the previous record. Shrek the Third was also the third-biggest debut ever, behind Spider-Man 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest. Pirates
of the Caribbean: At World's End opens Friday.
